We aren't sure as we haven't seen Chandon around and I don't know of any other devs on here as of right now. The only thing we can do is learn for ourselves or wait until a good dev gets the device which I know will be happening shortly.

Its going to be extremely difficult to get a working root on anything windows regardless of how many devs we enlist. I have been searching on and off for weeks trying to find a way to mount a file as ext4 from windows and have had no luck at all

Doing a Wubi install of Ubuntu is your best bet to get your G-Slate rooted anyway. It's fairly simple in my opinion.

I daresay it may be easier to compile a one-click method that includes a background wubi install than to ever compile a method using purely windows

It won't happen, because the only driver that can even access the ext4 filesystem requires you disable extents, and even when you do get access, it's read only.

Im assuming since HC source never dropped we will have to wait for ice cream and hopefully cyanogen will get to work on his free g slate

Yep. The 'Comb's source code won't drop until after Ice Cream is released. Which is interesting because there are 2 things that DOESN'T imply:

    1. That G-Slate, Xoom or any other Honeycomb Tablets will be upgraded to Ice Cream.
    2. That Ice Cream source code will be released at the same time.

So, while Ice Cream may be the latest and greatest thing when it comes out, that doesn't necessarily mean that developers will be able to do anything with it right off the bat. I imagine Honeycomb will get quite a nice bit of usage by the devs in it's afterlife if things pan out this way.
