Honeycomb 3.1
Looks like Honeycomb 3.1 is on its way out. Does root mean no update? If so, can we go back to stock? I don't think that we intentionally unlocked the bootloader (like on a Nexus phone) so it would seem that we could update, which would lose root, and then re-root, correct?

Re: Honeycomb 3.1
Right now it's only being pushed to the xoom. No word on when we'll get it, but since we're still running the stock rom, rest assured that we will. I imagine we're going to have to wait on freaking T-Mobile to get there act together b4 it gets pushed to us ota. I can't imagine it would take very long tho as we're basically running a pure version of honeycomb. We might get lucky and be able to manually download it after it gets pushed to the xoom.

You can go here and see: http://www.androidcentral.com/android-honeycomb-get-updated-31-will-bring-google-tv-support-and-much-more?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+androidcentral+%28Android+Central%29
The basics are USB and resizable widgets. The first we already have in the G-Slate.

Resizeable widgets...well, I was hoping for something bigger...but I can't say that I wasn't annoyed by the fact that I had no control over the size of the widgets on my home screen. A baby step in the right direction I guess...

Re: Honeycomb 3.1
Supposedly 3.1 is getting Google TV...I wonder if that will delay us from getting it as T-Mobile may not want competition with their own TV app.

Re: Honeycomb 3.1
I am really hoping that we get this sooner than later. I would think that it came out for the Xoom first since that it was most of the google dev used when designing the UI.

T-mo TV has a horrible, horrible selection. If they were worried about competition then they should fix THAT first. I hope 3.1 is what we need to get Netflix on this baby.

Re: Honeycomb 3.1
I am using PlayOn to access Netflix on my g-slate from my home wi-fi (haven't figured out how to go mobile yet). It would be nice if T-mobile & Netflix figured it out before my trial account with PlayOn ran out.

Per Bete's link in IRC:

Looks like the G-Slate will be the last to get the update.

Re: Honeycomb 3.1
I asked my corporate sales engineer at tmo today and he had no idea when it was coming... not good because he was able to give me dates on other updates like nodo and others...

Man...I don't know why T-Mob/LG/Google are being so secretive about the G-Slate. Overrated Inc isn't even this damn secretive.

Re: Honeycomb 3.1
Haha, ya I dunno what their deal is. This is the best device I have tried out, the only thing that might be better is the new galaxy which isn't even out yet, they should be championing the g-slate.

It's definitely getting the Nexus One treatment. Shame.

Asus beats G slate to get 3.1
Well looks like the Asus eee slate also beat the G slate in getting 3.1. OTA started rolling out today. But what really puzzles me is, why is the G slate being treated like a bastard child?

No button. Just change the date to some time in the future and it will check. I also reboot to force the check. Find the time or date of the last check in 'about phone'

Re: Honeycomb 3.1
3.1 adds a button... Kind of irritating, because then you hit it all the time thinking you will get 3.2
