Did anyone get the update? I heard the 12th as a date from my T-Mo rep.. of course he also go the end of life notification for the G-Slate as well..

Yes you will get the update if you did not already update manually.

I am in Canada with a SIM unlocked G-Slate on Wind Mobile and the 3.1 update came over fine via Wi-Fi.
So far liking the 3.1.
A tip I used was to set the date 8 days ahead and it seems to check for the update. (checks automatically every 7 days)
Will the 3.1 effect the ability to gain root access?
I'm thinking that LG/Tmo will be years for any ICS so rooting & custom ROM'ing may be in my future.

Just got updated today. Im wifi only, so you don't hafta have a data plan. The device doesn't reset or clear any data, so you won't hafta start over. Update was painless, 61mb download and the whole process only took about 8 minutes. Device runs alot smoother, definitely a noticeable difference. Browser bugs seem to be worked out, market downloads dont hang anymore, and finally youtube hd videos play without problems. Nothing extremely exciting about the update, but very needed as alot of bugs seem squashed and the device reassures me of my purchase. Now let's see how long it takes LG to get back in the game and get 3.2 or ICS on this underrated beast.
